LONG BEACH, Calif. — DENSO ADC, one of the world’s largest manufacturers of mobile data capture systems, is introducing a new line of durable hand-held barcode terminals designed for maximum productivity and operational ease. DENSO announced the BHT-1400 Series terminals at the National Retail Federation’s Annual Convention & Expo, known as “Retail’s BIG Show,” Jan. 17-20 in New York City.
The BHT-1400 has a more rugged, protective body; an ergonomic grip for secure, single-handed use; and a large-screen, high-resolution display for optimal visibility in any environment. New power-saving features reduce the need for frequent recharging and minimize downtime by allowing for continuous use up to 36 hours, even with wireless operation.
“The BHT-1400 is large enough to read, small enough to handle, and tough enough to withstand the harshest industrial and weather conditions,” said David Keller, sales manager of DENSO ADC, the Americas’ sales arm of DENSO Wave Inc., inventor of the QR Code®. “We’ve combined DENSO’s high-performance scanning functions in an enhanced exterior to create a safer, more resilient and more efficient terminal.”
In its state-of-the-art polycarbonate body, the BHT-1400 is designed to withstand multiple drops associated with frequent use and ranked best in class for impact resistance when dropped on concrete from a height of up to 2 meters. With a IP65 rating, the robust device is also fully functional in wet and dusty environments, as well as extreme temperatures ranging from -20 to 50 C (-4 to 122 F).
The placement of the keyboard and tapered handle ensure the BHT-1400 can be held securely in one hand and all keys comfortably reached with the thumb. The nonslip grip offers additional single-handed control, reducing operational fatigue and increasing productivity.
The BHT-1400’s 3.2-inch WVGA screen with high-resolution display ensures crystal-clear visibility whether indoors or outdoors, even in bright sunlight. Available in 1D and 2D models, the compact unit comes with embedded development tools and preinstalled software.
A three-year warranty is standard on the BHT-1400 Series terminals, and software updates can be downloaded at no extra cost. Each model offers additional advantages, features and accessories.
